penicillin worked for a while but eventually it was outsmarted by a strand of weaponized LH-380.

I built an L-32 out of spare parts, of which the frame was from a blessedly uncracked L-380. I just figured that I could trust it with .32 more than I could with anything more powerful.

I ran into an L-380 at a show for $100 and passed on it. Part of that was because I wasn't able to inspect the frame. I also thought $100 was a bit too much for a Lorcin, even if it did appear to be in decent shape. Maybe I made a mistake, maybe not. I know I've spent $100 on better guns in the past, but it seems that those deals have become hard to find.
