You might want to go to North American Arms Forum website and search Chang's grips.He makes them
on a CNC machine and lots of time you have to wait on them. they are really nice but they don,t look
as good as the ones you have pictured.

As he said, Awesome post!
  • Useful A+
  • Concise detailed explanation A++
  • Pics & Video A+++++
It's amazing how few people on youtube actually know how to choose the proper resolution, compose a shot and focus.

On my to-do list for my new HP22 is polishing its ramp and rails. Do you think I should dress the extractor as preventive maintenance as well?

Great to be here (my first post)

BTW, anyone have experience putting a HP25 barrel on a HP22?

Welcome, ALF! Never done that. Wouldn't the firing pin on the HP22 be in the wrong location to strike the 25ACP primer?

I am in search of a 6" barreled .25acp, and this idea came up for me to try, also. Another member here, on the old board, posted photos that show how the HP-25 and HP-22 frames and barrel assemblies are different and not interchangeable. There is some reinforcing points on the .25acp that just don't match with the .22. As far as I can tell, you cain't do a caliber conversion on the HP pistols. Which is a bummer as far as I am concerned.

Will the barrels interchange? I have a 6" range kit, minus the .22 cal barrel insert. I was thinking of trying to put a .25 cal range kit onto the HP25 :twisted: I recall someone on the old forum making .22 barrels for J-22s and they had reportedly said they could make longer 25 caliber barrels as well... 8-)

Since the two guns seem to be from the same stock, and there's only one firing pin listed in inventory (stock #204), I would assume that between the 25 being that little bit larger and the bore sitting a tad lower in the barrel (or higher if the 25 strikes the top instead of the bottom of the rim) it would bring the firing pin to the center.

I hate mudding up OpenNRG's excellent post on Extractor Repair. How about we continue barrel discussion over on HP22 & HP25 Barrel Interchagability.

I think somebody said on the old forums that minor differences in the frames of the HP22 and HP25 keeps them from being interchanged. I can't remember who it was but somebody posted pictures and explained why they couldn't be swapped.

I did this extractor repair on one of my HP22A's a couple years ago when I was having extraction problems. Don't think it's failed to extract a case since.

Welcome to BJJA, Fordman. How many rounds has you put through your HP?
