Pictures of cracked HP22 frame - what to look for

I grabbed these pic of cracked HP22 frame off the 'net - just in case someone wanted to know what they should look for. ;)

An important note is that you can basically tell on every HP22a if the frame is totalled by locking the slide back with the safety lever and looking down the magwell.

I'm surprised mine hasn't cracked. i got it used too.

I've looked at both of mine- no hint of a crack.
My first HP-22 came with the box and everything - hardly looked like it'd been fired - so I'm not surprised.
But my recent frame purchase that I rebuilt from Gunbroker parts kits was real pretty beat up. It wouldn't have surprised me in the least to have the beginnings of a frame failure. "

I got mine used several years ago and it shows no sign of a crack.....as yet.
it's the luck of the draw probably. A design flaw that could have been avoided.
Neat guns though.
