New Phoenix Arms HP22A mags have plastic basplates

Postby Flowmaster » Wed Dec 14, 2016 2:38 pm

I got a new Phoenix Arms HP22A magazine a few weeks ago and it has a plastic baseplate. Its the standard flat baseplate variant. The people who were selling the mags also had the extended mags for the HP22A that are a bit longer but don't have any increased capacity. Those mags still had metal baseplates. I just thought it was interesting. Have they been plastic for a while? Maybe a cost-cutting move for Phoenix Arms.

Pulled out a flat base mag from 6 years ago and it is polymer. Must have been making poly base plates for a while. There still could be old stock metal base plate mags floating around someplace though. All of my flat based mags are polymer.
