Looks like there should be a spring here -somewhere:?: The HP-22 schematic shows a spring (#224) but I'm not sure where it actually is supposed to go, and besides there's no spring to be found in mine at all - looks like I'll place a call to Phoenix. Could someone do me a favor and pull the right grip off their HP-22 and post a pic for comparison? Thanks!

The spring you are looking for is behind the trigger under the frame, you cannot see it directly.

Here are some photos of mine, use as you wish...

You can ignore the colored lines, they were for helping somebody else reassemble their gun awhile back. To get to the trigger spring, you will have to take the trigger out by drifting out the roll pin (#213) which is directly above the trigger (last pin to the right in the bottom photo I posted). Once again, I personally have never had to take the trigger out, so I do not know what all the details are, sorry.

OK, curiosity got the better of me so I got mine out to look at it.

Adam, look DOWN on your gun with the slide off, and you should see the trigger spring right there. I took some photos, not great ones cuz Sweetie has the good camera with her.

Last photo is just a crummy blow up of the other one, frame is pointing to the left. Ain't gonna take my trigger out, tho, you will just have to let us all know how it works when you do it.

Ohhhh! So it is NOT a compression spring as shown in the diagram (#224) but instead it's a straight torsion spring! (similar to #225 in the diagram)! That helps a LOT, thanks!

 It's still in pieces  In my defense, I've been super busy with a couple of other projects. When I get 'er done, I'll post pics.

Update: Got it all apart side by side with a newer model and discovered my HP-22 is an older one, not only was there no trigger return spring, there was no provision for it at all. Later versions have a slot in the middle of the trigger for the spring to rest in; mine did not. The other thing I noticed is that the pins used in later versions of the HP-22/25's are roll pins; my pins are solid pins.

Anyway, it's all fixed and working as it should. :D
