Raven Unicorn in progress

Postby bumthum » Wed May 08, 2019 10:51 pm

Looks like a unicorn Baldwin Park transitional safety P-25 popped up on GB and I was able to snag it. I think I overpaid, but this is the first one I've ever seen intact and I may never see another... I had to make my move for the sake of my collection.

It looks like it's in good condition, hopefully I'll have it in hand in a week or two and I can get it checked out. I'm really wondering if the slide is a large safety Baldwin Park that's been modified, or if it's like the later Industry slides... last time I checked the two weren't interchangeable. I'm going to be in around $175 by the time this is all said and done, but she is a rare bird.

Here is the auction link with more photos.

Just an update:

I picked up the transitional Raven today (plus a complete "parts gun" Raven they sold me for an additional $30). Hopefully I'll get a chance to get some good photos and do a write up on my days off next week.

For the curious though, the slide is the same as the earlier Baldwin Park examples and is completely interchangeable with them. The safety appears to be a unique part, I've never seen an Industry pistol with a safety like this one, so it may be limited to only these transitional pistols. Finally, the frame also appears to be like the earlier Baldwin Park pistols. I'll take a closer look later, but it looks like the only difference between this transitional pistol and the original Baldwin Park pistols is the safety piece itself and the markings on the side.
