Better .25 auto ammo coming

Postby Don » Tue May 16, 2017 12:45 pm

Just had a couple of email exchanges with the folks at Buffalo Bore ammo. I asked them if they were planning on manufacturing some high performance .25 acp ammo similar to what they are manufacturing for guns chambered for .32 S&W long and .38 S&W. They replied promptly and told me they are nearly ready to start manufacturing a 50 and 60 grain load for .25 auto that will be safe to shoot in any gun that is safe to shoot current .25 auto ammunition. So us zamac pocket gun guys will have another option that should make our little Ravens a bit more effective. I am sure it will come at a premium as their current high performance ammo is not cheap. That's fine with me, if it makes me a little more confident carrying my Ravens I'll pay the extra $.

That'll be real interesting ammo to shoot out of a vest pocket like a Bauer. I can't wait! :D

I hope they use some good brass. I have had many split after their first reload, and that was with a 825 fps load with 50 grain FMJ's.

I wonder what kind of brass they're going to use. I've seen Magtech (CBC headstamp) and Fiocci (GFL headstamp) 25ACP brand new brass being sold online in the past year or two. I'm pretty sure Starline Brass doesn't make 25ACP so they're not going to supply it.

Anyone remember OATH brand ammo? They made a 40 grain 25ACP load using a solid round nose all copper bullet at an advertised 800 feet per second. Maybe Buffalo Bore will use a similar solid copper bullet.
