The Heritage looks to be a Schmidt pattern single action based on the 2 piece frame and leaf main spring. The RG66 is a one piece frame with a removable trigger guard and uses a coil main spring.
most of the imported single Action 22's look to be Schmidt pattern guns. Design wise the closest thing to the RG66 is the Ruger Bearcat.

I wasn't able to get the price down to $125, so I never bought the RG 66. I think the consignment seller eventually gave up on selling it and took the gun back from the gun store. Given that I bought a brand new Heritage from Bud's Guns for $99 on sale about a year before that, I couldn't justify spending more than $125 on the RG 66 with its potential issues.

The heritage is a good SA and better supported for parts . I was looking at the 6.5 inch heritage until I got lucky on my RG 66 9" barrel. Now I think I am seeing a short barrel birds head on the Christmas list. Sounds like you made a wise choice passing on it at >$125 that just sounds a bit high especially if it had issues.
