RG-23 DA reliability

Postby Papa G » Sun Dec 04, 2016 7:51 pm

My RG23 works fine in SA mode, but in DA mostly no fires. Looking at it today, when cocked the hammer goes all the way into the hammer slot in the frame. But in DA I see that the hammer does not go all the way back by about a 1/4 inch, At the 1/4 inch more to go the hammer releases. Could this be the reason for its DA unreliability?

Could be...maybe new hammer spring, that release could be normal for the da since the lock for sa may be at that 1/4 in further spot...if I remember I'll pull out the 14 and see if it does this also

If I remember correctly it should be drawing the hammer back fully in double action. I'll grab both of mine later today and update. Sounds like you most likely have a mechanical issue.

Thanks guys appreciate it. spent a lot of time looking for some good pictures of the firing mechanism, but nothing I consider usable.
