Another 100 down range today. Still running great and I like running the 125 grainers over the H110 out of this. Much easier to control than my little sp101.

Harder to clean though.

DOH! Looks like the nickel finish is peeling off of the cylinder face and the outside of the cylinder as well..

Have a Email into EAA about it. I'd be remiss if I wasn't a little perturbed about it already having finish issues.

Is it like chipping off around the crown? I've got a Phoenix Arms pistol that's got some issues at the tip of the barrel like whatever plating they used just didn't want to stay.

It's almost all off around the front of the cylinder face.. save for the carbon rings. I cleaned the carbon rings off and the nickel is there. Just gone from the rest of the cylinder face.

I also noticed it is peeling off the outside of the cylinder. About a 1/8"X1/8" or more patch of it is missing down the side of the cylinder on one cylinder bore.

I should have got some pics. I'll try tonight.

Wow, weird. I wonder if they have the stuff in their repair facility to re-plate the finish here in the US? They might just exchange your gun for another one. I've seen some warranties don't cover finish. Smith & Wesson was one that I had trouble with. The finish on a 22a I had didn't hold up at all and they said they wouldn't refinish it because they don't warranty finish wear. That sounds kind of ridiculous when the paint they used on that little 22 started coming off of the bolt. I hope you have better luck than I did.

They sent me a call tag for it. I'm dropping it off tonight or tomorrow.

It be pretty silly for them not to do anything about it when it is so new. But I'm sure anything can happen.

It's shoddy plating for sure. Might just ask for a blued one if this is going to be a constant issue.

If your on the fence about getting one of these....well you have a good reason for it.

If you have a want for the matte nickle version....don't. Buy the blued version.

Very frustrating with the finish quality especially since the majority of the pistol is of decent quality. I assume once I get the replacement back this time I will be selling it.
