Taurus 94

Postby nwmousegunner » Thu May 03, 2018 12:56 pm

A near by pawn shop has a Taurus model 94, bluewith a 2" barrel in good condition. They are asking $250 and didn't want to come down on the price. I am not familiar with Taurus and I don't know if this is a good price or not. Have any of you all had any experience with this model.

I've seen the nickel ones go for as low as $180 out the door.

Used, with the box and a couple of speedloaders, this one is currently just over 200 plus 18 shipping and whatever your FFL would charge.https://www.gunbroker.com/item/768158694

Would your local guy do 250 out the door if paying cash?

if it times correctly I would get it. They are very handy guns and have adustable sights. Maybe not the best for self defense but for plinking and utility they are nice guns. Cheap shooting and great practice for 38 snub nose CCWs.

They money you will save on ammo alone will pay for the gun once you put 1,000 rounds down range.

beware.. heavy double action pull if your sensitive to that sort of thing.

$250 is a good price when you can inspect it.

Good thing you passed. This is the gun which seems to generate more Taurus complaints than any other. Also, there are rumblings on the Taurus forum that they might be changing their warranty/service policy/whatever to one year, or making it apply only to the original retail purchaser.

Yeah, Taurus is having a real bad time of it lately. I had high hopes for them a couple of years ago when they announced the lifetime warranty, but nowadays things do not sound good.
