Top Break Revolvers and Suicide Specials: Many were poorly made all were basic, inexpensive, simple guns which sold at modest prices . “Suicide Specials" were the "Saturday Night Specials” of their day and age. Beginning in the late 19th century, a huge number of these were sold through various retail outlets. Examples are Iver Johnson, Harrington & Richardson, and (H & R Firearms)

I was wondering if any one here knows what IJ and H&R did with their manufacturing machinery, tooling and other gun making stuff when they stopped making revolvers??? Its a shame no one picked up on it and continued making the revolvers.

I've been to a gun shop in Gardner Mass (last place where the H&R revolvers were made) and asked that very question. Nobody could tell me.

I think the last revolvers made were the New England Firearms version of the H&Rs and those got discontinued sometime in the 1990s.
