Democratic Rep Joe Salazar

Postby Kiln » Fri Mar 08, 2013 11:00 pm

Here's a quote from Democratic Representative Joe Salazar speaking about rape on college campuses and explaining why women don't need guns on campus.

It’s why we have call boxes, it’s why we have safe zones, it’s why we have the whistles. Because you just don’t know who you’re gonna be shooting at. And you don’t know if you feel like you’re gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around or if you feel like you’re in trouble when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop … pop around at somebody.”

Basically he implies that women can't be trusted to make a judgement call about when to deploy and use a firearm for their own defense. He thinks that call boxes, whistles, and "safe zones" are good enough.

Being even half way intelligent is not a requirement for public office, especially in D.C.

And apparently no way to revoke their position if they prove to be hypocrites. Any person in any office caught doing things they advocate making illegal should be immediately removed from office (like Mark Kelly buying that AR-15). Likewise, they should immediately be removed for supporting things that the majority of people they represent do not agree with. The point of our politicians is SUPPOSED to be the official voice for the people. Instead we get a bunch of self-indulgent hypocritical agenda pushing douchebags.

Now, I know for a fact that I am certainly NOT the smartest rock in the box.. But I am in the box with the other rocks.. Not out in left field trying to catch butterfly's or something like that... For the life of me I just do not understand how a person expects criminals to obey the law... Specifically I am referring to Salazar's remark about SAFE ZONES... The way I understand it, a Safe Zone is an area that is designated as .. well SAFE.. problem/crimes/issues are not supposed to happen in these areas. That's like part of what makes a Safe Zone actually safe.. Laws are passed to keep crime out... If we work from the premise that criminals do not follow the rules..(ie break the law).. Whats the point... I mean I just do not understand how any person that has the ability to get out of bed in the morning could think in his/her WILDEST fantasy that a person who's job is to break the law not to to his job... I honestly, for the life of me, can not figure this one out..

I know this sounds like a funny sort of BS kind of post, but I really can not wrap my head around this theory...
"You broke into my house, Stole my property, Murdered my Servants and my pets, And that is what GRIEVES me the most" Can you name the movie????

It's only a "safe zone" if there is an abundance of alert, properly trained, armed security people there at all times. Pointing at a sign that reads "safe zone" will only give the attackers a very cheap laugh as they proceed...

My problem has always been, who is going to guard us fron the guards?

If they don't trust us with guns, how can we trust them with the government?

If there was such "safe zones" whats to stop an attacker from planting an IED there, doing something to get people to go there, then detonate it killing many?
