Anyone done any cold/hot blueing on a rifle barrel?

Postby FarmallB » Tue Feb 21, 2017 12:27 am

I have two older .22 rifles I'd like to try my hand at blueing. I have no experience at it other than reading a few articles and watching a few Youtube vids. Any advice or experience out there?

I cold blue for small touch up areas. Full barrels, etc. i usually Cerakote.
Hot bluing uses some harsh chemicals and I don't need the alphabet agencies looking over my shoulder.
Good luck with your project.

I don't have the equipment or space to do real hot bluing. The tanks are pretty big.
