holster for J-9

Postby Bulldog1 » Mon Jun 18, 2018 1:21 am

Does anyone know if there is a Kydex paddle holster that will fit the J/JA-9? From what I have read they are a decent fit in holsters for Glock 19 sized holster's and according to some they fit in the Uncle Mikes size 16. Any way as always any knowledge is appreciated.

I don't know of one, but I usually just get a crosman air gun pistol holster at Walmart for $7.99 to hold my SNS PIStolaS. They have a spot for a extra magazine.

I've never seen one for a J-9 /J.A.-9. I'd hesitate to substitute a Kydex holster for a different pistol since Kydex holsters are kind of a customized fit.
There are DIY kits out there if you're so inclined. Knifekits.com has a decent looking one, here's the link to paste in your browser:

Ranchdog used some leather holster back in the day, like years and years ago. Bianchi maybe? I don't remember what gun he ordered a holster for, maybe a Sig Sauer or something. I'll see if I saved any of his pictures.

Tagua makes a decent holster for not a ton of money. They're made in Paraguay.

Got the Tagua NPD1-021 nylon paddle for a Glock 26-30 the J-9 fits good and the retention strap snaps not bad for $3.97 off amazon.

Morning guys! Still lurk a bit and saw this, it was a DeSantis Yaqui Slide. I believe I used "Glock" as the size.

The DeSantis is an expensive choice for the price point of the JA so I would recommend that you look at the Bulldog Leather Slide. Bulldog's fit chart indicates that the "medium" fits. I have all the sizes in this holster, but no JA to fit them and relying on my memory is a dangerous thing. With this holster, you would want to dedicate it to the firearm as some work needs to be done to form it and that is done over time. The forward part of the trigger guard is the tough fit on the JA-Nine. This holster also takes a lot of care to fit a channel for the front sight.

The slide is my favorite conceal carry holster. Along those lines, I big on carrying spare magazines and I won't leave home without two on my support side. I don't like pouches with covers except for revolver speed loaders. Unfortunately, Bulldog no longer makes a double leather pouch similar to the slide above. That's a shame. Finding a fit for the JA-Nine magazines is tougher than finding a holster for the pistol.
